Note: Most of my current blog is about Bible related topics, however, I just didn’t feel like talking about what I read in devotions today (still thinking on it) so you get to hear my opinion about Sarah Palin!
Sarah Palin was gotten for votes. That’s it. Quite plainly, there was no other reason to pick her.
McCain talked to her for all of 15 minutes before summoning her to his ranch for her final interview. What does this alone tell you? She was a quick snag.
Now, I like Palin’s record. She’s good, but the problem is she doesn’t have much of a record. This isn’t her fault but governing a town that has less citizens then the town I live in isn’t necessarily making me jump for joy at the thought of her helping to run the country. Her biggest job, running the state of Alaska has only been going on for two years. And again, the population of Alaska – 683, 978 is much less than Virginia’s (mine) – 7, 712, 091
Another point of Palin is that McCain and her have differing views on several topics with her, but picked her over other candidates that agreed with him (abortion was one of these issues) showing he is a pragmatist. (gasp – it isn’t all that bad)
Palin has already been a smart move though, votes are being stolen already from the democrats many of wish want to see a woman succeed.
Sarah Palin’s daughters record is also interesting. She has a 17 year old daughter who is pregnant and not married. She has chosen not to have an abortion (I’m very happy!) but these does lead to the question: If Palin cannot even control her minor (meaning she’s not a legal adult) child how can she run the country?
In the Bible, we are told elders need to have good/respectable familes to prove they are responsible leaders. Palin’s “record” on this is an interesting note . . .
In Palin’s defense, even her small record is bigger than Obama’s non-existance one.
I think however, that Palin was also picked to cover up McCain. People look at Palin, agree with her record and issues, and decide to vote Republican even though McCain doesn’t stand for those issues (shown above, example: abortion) himself.
So there you have it: My opinion on Palin.
Conclusion: I like Palin but I feel that she shouldn’t run for vice president. She isn’t ready (lack of experience, inablity to control her own child) and she doesn’t support what McCain does (example: abortion).
Please Note: Politics are NOT my thing. I’m sure y’all could come back and crush me, so feel free.
Also: I used several sources for the above info, none of which are from the computer. If you want the sources, let me know and I’ll get them to you.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you down the road!
Hey! I agree with you; Palin’s record is WAY better than Obama’s. Where we disagree is that I believe she has what it takes to run for VP. I think she will be a great one. Yes, she was chosen for the votes, but she is honest, forthright, and definately firm. I’d love to see her win (there’s my feminist side talking! :p haha. Just so you know, I think we should do something like this for Faith…)! I’d rather have her and McCain (who I’m not particularily fond of…) than Obama and Biden.
<3 u!!
I know nothing about politics whatsoever, don’t even watch things like this, but I just wanted to say hi.
haha
Hey Megan!
Nice to see you find my blog! If you ever come back here, you’re doing exactely what I mentioned above. People agree with Palin and so vote for McCain. You also never addressed her experience or her “record” with her daughter” (my agressive debater side is coming out xD )
It’d be cool for Faith. Thanks!
~Ali
Hello, Alison! I totally agree with you when you say you don’t think she has what it takes to become VP. Seriously, she hasn’t had much experience. I think she’d make a good governor, but vice president? Don’t think so. I don’t think I could do any better, but she seems lacking in experience and knowledge. When asked about what she thought of the Bush Doctrine, Paline replied with something like, “Well, it’s his worldview.” Okay, no it isn’t. I also find it a little odd that her church is making prophesies about her (riiight). That’s weird if not frightening. McCain really hasn’t impressed me that much either, but I would definitely choose McCain and Palin over Obama and Biden.
Rosie-Button
Hey!
Yep, I’m back. And I know I didn’t address everything. I was rushing. Sorry! LOL
Ok, so here’s the deal.
Sarah Palin may not have a massive record, she may not be a war hero, and she may not have a history of traveling all over. But I like hers a lot better than Obama’s non-existant record! I guess it’s the comparison that makes me like her, or maybe my femenist side.
And about her daughter, she told McCain about the pregnancy and he said, “I want you on that ticket anyway.” Really, what could she have done? People say that if she cannot keep control of her house, how could she control a country.
Let’s say (ex…just an ex!) that today I told you I’m pregnant. That doesn’t mean my parents didn’t raise me right. It doesn’t mean that they wanted that. It doesn’t mean my parents are evil. It means I did the wrong thing… I DID IT! Not my parents, not my siblings, not anyone else (besides the bf or whoever it was). I DID IT. It’s MY fault. You kinda get my drift?
Yes, Sarah preaches abstinence in her home, but that is not necessarily going to stop a rebellious and disobedient child, who is determined to turn her back on her parents teaching or just caught in the moment, from acting immorally. Yes, that was graphic. Sorry. LOL
But it is reflecting poorly on Palin’s record and I feel sorry for her about that. Anyway, that’s my thing! I’ll be back to see what you say on that.

I totally agree with you that Sarah Palin has a better record than Obama. Please note: I am not indicating that I like Obama, I’m saying that I don’t think Palin was a good vice-president choice.
If it doesn’t really matter about how your kids act, then why are elders judged by their kids? Just wondering . . . you have a very valid point.
ttyl!
Hey!
<3
I think that a lot (some 70%) of the people bashing Palin have no reason. They’re just downright nasty. Probably because they’re scared to death of her!
And I don’t think it is fair that ANYONE is judged by their children. The behavior of a child does not mean A THING about the beliefs, standards, or correctness of their parents (you know, just because they’re blood!)
Kinda get my drift?
Like I don’t think it’s fair that parents get judged and told that they have no control over their child when the kid goes behind their back and commits the sin.
<3
I think we should just post this entire post in faith! I’m actually planning on writing an article for Faith called “All sizzle… where’s the steak?!”
Oh, last thing.
I just wanted to remind you of how sometimes WE (as kids) get judged by our parents’ mistakes and actions. I hate that feeling. Just because my parents were wrong doesn’t mean I am. I’m not accountable for that sin that they committed. I didn’t LET them do it. They just DID it. (face it, they never listen to us :p lol!)
But that’s the same the other way around. As kids, we are usually rebellious by nature. That’s not our parents’ fault, though sometimes it looks like it. It’s just not fair.
That’s true, no one should bash her just because they don’t like her.
I think you have a very valued point, however, if you don’t believe in that, how do you explain the bible verse – James, Chapter 3, verse 12
What’s that article about? Palin? =D Think it’s cool
I think you’re beating me on the “her daughter” point, however, I have new evidence that wasn’t around then. Palin’s ability to earn her votes has been wearing down, McCain leapt ahead in the polls just after she was picked, however Obama has been gaining the lead now. It seems her shock factor has worn down. Just a thought . . . . (I mentioned that she was picked for votes)
