Evolution Model

about 15 billion years ago the universe exploded into existence.

about 4.6 billion years ago the earth came about.

about 3.5 billion years ago life evolve.

Humans evolved from apes.

This includes: time, chance and natural processes

Creation Model:

God created the universe and everything in it in 6 days

Sin was the cause of death.

God destroyed the world by a worldwide flood.

Man was created in the image of God.

3. Don’t Let our experiences interpret the Bible

Threefold Problem of the Gap Theory

1. It is unscientific

A christian attempt to use evolution. It does follow the First or Second Law of Thermodynamics

2. It is Unscriptural

Adam would be walking on top of an animal fossil graveyard

3. It is Unnecessary

the gap theory is adding to  Scripture

Genesis 1:1 is a summary statement of creation

Day – Age Theory

the “days” of the Creation week were long periods of time, and not literal days.

the “evening and morning” were the beginning and end of geologic eras.

2 Peter 3:8

A small fact: If life itself is nearly one billion years old, than each day in Genesis 1 would have to stand for a VERY long time
